There is a lot to be expected from the Saturday's clash between Chelsea and Sunderland. It’s a must win game for the home team, but the away team will obviously not surrender without a fight.

Chelsea

Chelsea sacked Mourinho after the disapCoining results. Chelsea’s performance since the beginning of the season is below par with the 16th place after 16 matches. The Blues managed to win only four games this season and therefore the team is finally in crisis. The pressure inside the club is therefore running high, and this has had its consequences last week.

After many meetings, the board of Chelsea finally decided to dismiss Jose Mourinho, so he will not appear in the match against Sunderland. Juande Ramos and Guus Hiddink are tentatively named as a (temporary) replacement of the Portuguese.

Chelsea can at least expect good results against Sunderland on Saturday. In the home stadium Stamford  Bridge, the team has had won as many as 36 of the 54 matches. However, the team now performs a lot less and it is so but whether it will succeed to win Saturday. However, the team’s current performance is away worse, and it is questionable whether it will succeed to win on Saturday.

Sunderland

Sunderland dangles the entire season all around the lower places in the Premier League, and the team is on a second last position in the ranking. With only 12 Coins from the first 16 matches, the Black Cats knows the prospect. In recent weeks, however, there was some more revival with the team. They won twice in the last five matches. There was a painful home defeat against Watford.

Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce expects a tough game on Saturday. “He didn’t seem stable right from the off this season. He was on a campaign where he fell out of love with his players. It’s quite incredible and astonishing to see the champions capitulate in the last game against Leicester. I saw players that weren’t really giving everything,” Allardyce said in reaction to Mourinho’s dismissal.

The match between Chelsea and Sunderland is a very tricky one to predict. The dismissal of Mourinho is suddenly announced. It could be that this has a positive effect on the players, but it could also cause bewilderment and dismay.
